MUMBAI: Each year boys max out seats at the Indian Institutes of Technology. But the count of girls who secured JEE ranks has doubled to 2,886 since the last edition of the exam. Around 500 Patna students crack IIT-JEE

PATNA: Around 500 city students studying in different engineering coaching institutes here have cracked the IIT-JEE this year, making the state proud. The results were announced on Friday. Director of Sahil Study Centre, Mithilesh Singh, talking to TOI said, "One of our students, Shakti Kumar has got all-India rank (AIR) 80. Out of our 107 students who appeared at the examination, 17 have cleared it. Seven of these 17 students hold AIR within 1,000. PATNA: In another big score, 27 of the 30 students from Bihar's Super 30, a free coaching centre for underprivileged students, have cracked the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) this year, its director said Friday. Patna University plans paperless exams from next session

PATNA: Patna University (PU), under its modernization plan, is likely to introduce paperless examinations for its different courses from the next academic session. The university has already introduced computerized evaluation of answer books of degree examinations this year. PU vice-chancellor Shambhu Nath Singh said the university was contemplating to have a large hi-fi examination hall with a seating capacity of 5,000 to 6,000 so that examinees could be accommodated in batches. Each seat at the examination hall would be fitted with an iPad for examinees to write the answers. GUWAHATI: The results of the CBSE-conducted Class X and XII final exams would be declared before May 28 and now the officials are busy with the final scrutinising, according to officials of the CBSE regional office. PUNE: Students now have the option to use Indian rupees as a payment method for the TOEFL iBT® test. The new payment choice is available to test takers by selecting the credit card option through the TOEFL® online registration system.
